The African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in Kebbi State, Abubakar Chika Malami, has officially commenced his campaign for the 2027 election, promising an issue-driven campaign focused on healthcare, education, security, agriculture and other key sectors.

The Director-General of the ADC Campaign Council in the state, Alhaji Sani Tadurga, announced the commencement of the campaign on Wednesday during a press briefing at Asbir Hotel in Birnin Kebbi.

Tadurga described the party’s campaign as a “rescue mission” designed to reposition Kebbi State and improve the living conditions of its residents, rather than serve as a platform for personal political interests.

He said the Malami-led administration, if elected, would pursue reforms in critical areas, including education, security and agriculture, with emphasis on improving the welfare of the people.

According to him, the campaign also has plans to revive the state’s tourism industry through partnerships between the government and private sector, which he said would help generate employment opportunities, particularly for young people.

Tadurga further said the ADC would address the problem of out-of-school children and strengthen the education system through what he described as a comprehensive education policy.

He added that the proposed policy would facilitate the effective implementation of education-for-all initiatives across the state.

The campaign council chairman said the team was prepared to engage residents at the grassroots and take its message to communities across Kebbi, assuring that every part of the state would be carried along.

He urged voters to assess the ADC based on its proposed programmes and policies ahead of the 2027 governorship election, stressing that the party would focus its engagements on issues directly affecting residents’ everyday lives.
