The family of aviation student, Enejoh Faith has thanked former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello for providing more than N30 million to enable her complete her pilot training after financial difficulties threatened her ambition.

Faith and her family visited the former governor at his Abuja residence on Monday to update him on her progress and express their appreciation for the financial support.

According to a statement issued on Tuesday by Bello’s spokesperson, Onogwu Muhammed, the former governor first met Faith and her father on July 17, 2025, when they approached him for assistance with her aviation training.

Faith, who was seeking to pursue her childhood ambition of becoming a pilot, had secured admission into an aviation training programme but was unable to meet the financial requirements for registration and continuation of her studies.

Her father reportedly presented her admission letter and other documents to Bello and explained the family’s financial difficulties.

Bello subsequently agreed to fund her training, with the cost of the programme estimated at about N30 million.

The former governor reportedly provided more than the amount initially requested to cover possible additional expenses that could arise during the course of her training.

Muhammed said the intervention was kept private at the time and was not accompanied by any media event or public announcement.

During Monday’s visit, Faith’s father disclosed that she had scored 89 per cent in her public pilot licence examination and had completed her training in preparation for the next stage of her aviation career.

He also said Bello had no prior relationship with either him or his daughter before their initial meeting.

Expressing gratitude, Faith’s father described the former governor as a highly valued member of the family and prayed for blessings upon him for the assistance.

He recalled the anxiety he experienced when the family was struggling to raise the funds for Faith’s training, saying the financial intervention brought significant relief.

According to Muhammed, Bello’s support for Faith was part of his private scholarship initiatives aimed at assisting people with education and professional training.

He said at least four beneficiaries had so far received support to undergo pilot training through the scheme, while others had been assisted to pursue university education in Nigeria and abroad.

Muhammed added that Faith and her family visited the former governor solely to express their gratitude and share the outcome of the assistance, rather than to request additional financial support.
