Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji has called for stronger collaboration among revenue-generating agencies in the state to increase internally generated revenue, block leakages, and improve service delivery.

He said effective teamwork was essential to meeting the state’s revenue targets.

The governor made the call during a mid-year review meeting with heads of the agencies in Ado Ekiti. The session reviewed their performance and assessed compliance with existing revenue policies.

Oyebanji directed all ministries, departments, and agencies to work closely with the Ekiti State Internal Revenue Service. He also ordered a full transition from manual revenue collection to automated systems, describing manual processes as outdated and prone to fraud and leakages.

As part of measures to ensure compliance, the governor announced that a comprehensive review of all revenue-generating agencies would be conducted in September. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to building a more efficient and transparent revenue collection system.

Heads of the agencies provided feedback on their challenges, prospects, and plans to improve collections. The meeting was attended by key officials, including the Commissioner for Finance and the Chairman of the state Internal Revenue Service.
