The Nigerian Army has declared key leaders of the Islamic State West Africa Province wanted after identifying them from technical devices recovered during recent offensive operations in the Lake Chad region.

The most prominent targets are the group’s governor, Abu Musa Al-Mangawi Baa Shuwa, and his deputy, Muhammad Jidda.

Acting Military Information Officer for Operation Hadin Kai, Captain Muhammed Goni, the identities were confirmed through forensic examination of recovered devices, including a camcorder used by the terrorists. The breakthrough followed successful operations against the group in northern Borno State.

The identified leaders and operatives include Abu Musa, described as the governor of the Islamic State West Africa Province, his deputy known as “The One-Handed Man,” and other senior figures operating around the Mangari–Metele–Dogon Chukun axis.

The military has offered a substantial financial reward for credible information that leads directly to the arrest of Abu Musa, who remains the most wanted terrorist leader in the Lake Chad Basin.

Specific bounties of N50 million and N10 million have also been placed on other key commanders.

Authorities urged members of the public to provide timely and credible information through established security channels while advising against any attempt to confront the suspects. All reports will be treated with confidentiality, and the identities of informants will be protected.
