The National Orientation Agency hosted members of the African Girl Guide Association at its headquarters in Abuja for their leadership exposure tour aimed to introduce the young participants to the agency’s role in promoting national values, civic responsibility, and citizen engagement.

Officials delivered presentations highlighting NOA’s mandate and key initiatives. These include the National Values Charter, Citizens’ Value Brigade, and the CHLEEAN App, all designed to foster patriotism, rights awareness, and the fight against social vices like drug abuse.

The manager, Miss Sophia Okiasi, speaking on behalf of the African Girl Guide, noted that the visit was part of their training to understand important national institutions. The African Girl Guide Association is known for its strong focus on the growth, empowerment, and leadership development of women and girls across the continent.

Deputy Director Esther Akor gave a detailed talk on the National Values Charter and Citizens’ Code, emphasising civic values, democratic governance, responsible citizenship, and ethical leadership. The session also covered Nigeria’s national symbols and the importance of respecting them as expressions of unity.

The event ended with a vote of thanks from Assistant Director Robinson Okechi. He commended the participants for their interest in civic education and encouraged them to become ambassadors of the values they had learned. The visit is expected to inspire greater youth involvement in nation-building.
