Be Patient With Tinubu’s Reforms, Jide Kosoko Appeals to Nigerians
Veteran Nollywood actor, Jide Kosoko has urged Nigerians to exercise patience with President Bola Tinubu’s administration, saying it is too early to judge the government before the impact of its policies and reforms can be fully assessed.
Kosoko made the appeal during an interview with FeelrightnewsTV, where he likened governing a country to constructing a building, arguing that a project cannot be fairly evaluated until it is completed.
According to the actor, assessing the performance of an administration before its programmes have run their course would be premature.
He also acknowledged that President Tinubu is not infallible, noting that, like every human being, he cannot be expected to be perfect.
Kosoko further alleged that critics of the administration were shaping public opinion, particularly among young Nigerians, claiming that many of the narratives circulating against the government were deliberately crafted to influence them.
Addressing members of Generation Z, he argued that young people are particularly vulnerable to manipulation, warning them to be cautious about the information they consume and the narratives they adopt.
The veteran actor also claimed that some individuals who present themselves as independent activists secretly receive support from the government while publicly criticising it to influence public perception.
He said supporters of the administration are often accused of being paid to defend the government, insisting that they are entitled to express their views independently despite also experiencing the country’s economic challenges.
While acknowledging the hardship faced by many Nigerians, Kosoko maintained that distributing money to citizens was not a practical solution given the country’s large population. He appealed to Nigerians to allow more time for the Tinubu administration’s reforms to produce meaningful results.
