BAT-IG Celebrates Aremo Olusegun Osoba at 87, Hails His Enduring Wisdom and President Tinubu’s Shared Vision for a Stronger Nigeria

The Bola Ahmed Tinubu Ideological Group (BAT-IG) heartily congratulates elder statesman, veteran journalist, former Governor of Ogun State and one of Nigeria’s most respected democratic icons, Aremo Chief Olusegun Osoba, on the occasion of his 87th birthday.

We join President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and teeming Nigerians in celebrating a man whose life has remained a beacon of integrity, patriotism, courage, wisdom and selfless service to our nation.

We subscribe to President Tinubu’s heartfelt description of Chief Osoba as “a brother in purpose” is both profound and fitting. It reflects a relationship built not merely on political association but on a shared vision and commitment to building a Nigeria founded on strong institutions, responsible leadership, democratic values and the welfare of the people.

For decades, Aremo Osoba has demonstrated that true leadership transcends political office. As a journalist, he championed truth, professionalism, ethical and responsible journalism. As governor, he prioritized people-oriented governance. As an elder statesman, he has consistently offered wise counsel capable of shaping national discourse and strengthening democratic institutions.

At BAT-IG, we are particularly inspired by Chief Osoba’s solution-oriented approach to governance. While many armchair critics simply identify national challenges, he has consistently shown the uncommon ability to provide practical pathways towards solving them.
