Six Months of Intense Military Operations Disrupt Terrorist Supply Chains, Logistics Networks
A comprehensive operational audit released by the Defence Headquarters has revealed that intensive joint military operations over the last six months have successfully disrupted the critical logistics networks and supply chains of major terrorist groups across Nigeria.
The sweeping anti-terror campaigns, executed by the various theatre commands under the oversight of the Chief of Defence Staff, focused heavily on choking off the primary lifelines that sustain insurgent enclaves. By intensifying border intelligence and intercepting transit corridors, frontline forces have severely restricted the inflow of weapons, ammunition, smuggled fuel, and medical provisions to non-state armed actors operating within the North East and North West zones.
Strategic choke points established along major supply lines have enabled military personnel to intercept and arrest dozens of high-profile logistics couriers and covert suppliers moving contraband to remote hideouts.
A key element of this offensive strategy involved the aggressive targeting of underground commercial networks that illicitly fund and provision these groups, including illegal mining sites and hijacked agricultural trade routes.
The systematic destruction of these economic hubs has forced many insurgent fighters out of their protected forest enclaves due to acute shortages of food, operational mobility assets, and medical supplies, leading to a visible drop in their capacity to launch coordinated tactical assaults against civilian and military targets.
Beyond cutting off material supplies, the sustained pressure from the air components and ground troops has fractured the administrative and communication links between different regional terrorist cells.
Military commanders reported that by neutralising key mid-level coordinators responsible for moving tactical funds, the operational cohesion of the insurgent networks has been significantly degraded. The Defence Headquarters maintained that maintaining this aggressive blockade strategy remains central to its long-term counter-insurgency framework, as permanently denying these criminal elements access to essential resources is vital to achieving lasting stability across the country.
