Iliyasu is New FRSC Kaduna Corps Commander, Promises to Ensure Safety on Roads

A new leader has taken the reins at the Federal Road Safety Corps in Kaduna, vowing to enhance safety on the state’s roads.

Corps Commander Tijjani Iliyasu, formerly the Sector Commander in Zamfara, has assumed his new role as the 24th commander of the Kaduna Sector.

Iliyasu takes over from Deputy Corps Commander, Idris Lawal, who was acting in the position.

The new commander has pledged to build on the existing foundation and foster a stronger connection with the community to address their concerns.

To achieve this, Iliyasu plans to increase transparency by explaining the reason behind the command’s decisions and actions.

He has identified overloading and excessive speeding as challenges, not only in Kaduna but nationwide.

To tackle these issues, the command will engage in proactive measures, including outreach programs and public awareness campaigns, to educate the public and prevent accidents before they occur.

Collaboration with key stakeholders, such as transport unions and other law enforcement agencies, will be crucial in achieving these goals.

Iliyasu emphasized the importance of a strong partnership with these stakeholders, noting that their interests are intertwined.

He also stressed the need to prioritize the well-being of personnel, recognizing and rewarding outstanding performance to motivate staff to deliver exceptional service.

The command has a performance evaluation system in place, which will help to assess staff performance and identify areas for improvement. By focusing on personnel welfare and acknowledging exceptional contributions, the command aims to create a motivated and effective team dedicated to providing excellent service.
