Military Nabs Alleged Insurgent with Mobile Phones, Money in Kogi State

Personnel from the 12 Brigade have taken a suspected terrorist into custody during a security sweep within the Lokoja Local Government Area of Kogi State.

The operation also led to the retrieval of three cell phones, a digital media player, and a sum of cash.

According to security insiders, the individual was apprehended at approximately 5:20 p.m. on July 2 as he traveled along the Owara–Atsawa Route in the Lokoja district.

Sources disclosed that an initial assessment of one of the confiscated mobile devices uncovered stored images and video footage linked to suspected militant operations.

The military units successfully seized three mobile devices, an MP3 player, and ₦19,200 from the individual.

The suspect, along with all the confiscated property, remains in military detention as personnel conduct deeper investigations and determine subsequent legal procedures.
