President Tinubu Commends Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa for Pioneering Innovations in Technical Education

President Bola Tinubu has commended the Governing Council,, management, and staff of the Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa, for positioning the institution as a leading centre of excellence in technical education.

The commendation was delivered by Amy Igwe, the Director of Polytechnics and Allied Institutions in the Federal Ministry of Education, during the institution’s 11th combined convocation ceremony held in Nasarawa.

The President praised the Polytechnic for its forward-thinking approach, particularly the recent accreditation of modern programs, in renewable energy technology, artificial intelligence, and mechatronics engineering. He also highlighted the establishment of the institution’s new Skills Innovation Hub as a critical step in providing students with the practical, modern skills necessary to thrive, in the current labor market.

Reiterating his administration’s economic strategy, under the “Renewed Hope Agenda,” President Tinubu stated that technical and vocational education serves as the engine room of Nigeria’s economic transformation. To foster innovation and self-reliance, among graduates, he announced that the Federal Government, through the Bank of Industry and SMEDAN, has earmarked ₦50 billion for graduate entrepreneurship loans for the 2026 period.

The President urged the institution’s leadership to deepen collaborations with bodies like the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) and private investors to convert Nasarawa State’s abundant mineral resources into sustainable employment and revenue for the nation.
