Ondo Police Launch Investigation into Death of Senior C&S Church Elder in Hotel Room

The Ondo State Police Command have commenced an investigation into the death of a senior member of the Cherubim and Seraphim (C&S) Church, Elder Omotayo Fajana, whose lifeless body was discovered in a hotel room in Akungba-Akoko, Akoko South-West Local Government Area of the state.

The deceased, a respected church elder, was reportedly in the town for a religious engagement when the tragic incident occurred. His death has sparked concern among church members, residents, and community leaders, prompting calls for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

According to sources, Fajana was found unresponsive in his hotel room, leading to the involvement of security agencies. The matter was subsequently reported to the police, who have since launched a probe to determine the cause of death.

Confirming the development, the Ondo State Police Command said detectives have begun gathering evidence and interviewing relevant individuals as part of efforts to establish what transpired before the elder's death.

Police authorities noted that all possibilities are being considered as investigations continue, while assuring the public that no stone will be left unturned in uncovering the truth behind the incident.

The command also urged members of the public to remain calm and avoid speculation, stressing that the outcome of the investigation would be made public upon its conclusion.

The death of Elder Fajana has cast a shadow over the church community, with sympathisers expressing shock over the incident and offering condolences to his family and congregation.

As of the time of filing this report, authorities had yet to release further details regarding the cause of death, while the investigation remains ongoing.
