Officer Woos Threatens Legal Action Over Fabricated NAFDAC Drug Trafficking Reports
Nigerian comedian and digital content creator, Officer Woos has strongly denied viral social media reports alleging that he was arrested by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control for importing cocaine-laced baked goods from Mexico, describing the claims as entirely false and defamatory.
The allegations, which spread rapidly across various social media platforms on Thursday, accused the entertainer, whose real name is Oladapo Jubril Gbadamosi, of importing large quantities of bread and brownies infused with cocaine from Mexico. The posts claimed that Officer Woos had abandoned his career in content creation in 2025 to pivot into a bakery business, a detail that some commentators used to lend a veneer of plausibility to the story.
The reports, however, have not been officially confirmed or denied by either NAFDAC or the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency.
In response to the growing circulation of the claims, Officer Woos engaged the services of his legal representatives, Versed Attorneys, to formally address the matter on his behalf. In a statement shared on his social media platforms, the comedian described the allegations as completely fabricated and without any factual basis. He demanded an immediate and unconditional retraction from all pages, handles, and individuals responsible for publishing and circulating the false information.
His legal representatives further stated that all outlets and individuals who spread the reports must issue a public apology on the same platforms where the defamatory content appeared, and that this must be done within 48 hours of the issuance of the formal statement. Failure to comply, it was implied, could result in legal consequences.
The episode has reignited conversations about the spread of misinformation targeting public figures in Nigeria’s entertainment industry, with observers noting that unverified claims against celebrities often gain significant traction online before the facts can be established. Neither NAFDAC nor the NDLEA has released any official statement regarding the matter as of the time of reporting.
