Presidency Disowns “Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi” Over Fake Council Claim

The Office of the Chief of Staff to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has issued a public disclaimer distancing the Federal Government from a man identified as Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, who is said to be parading himself as a presidential appointee under an organisation styled the “Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council.”

In a statement signed by the Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, and dated Thursday, the Presidency said it had become aware that the individual was presenting himself to members of the public as having been appointed by the office on behalf of the President.

The statement clarified that no such office exists under the current administration and that no appointment of the kind being claimed has been made.

The disclaimer urged members of the public to disregard any claims linking the named individual or the purported council to the Presidency, describing the matter as one requiring urgent public awareness to prevent confusion or exploitation.

It specifically called on foreign and diplomatic missions, financial and multilateral institutions, development organisations, and security agencies to take note of the contents of the notice, an indication that the Presidency considers the potential for the impersonation to extend into engagements with international and institutional partners.

The statement did not provide further details on the identity of the individual involved or indicate whether any further action, including referral to security agencies, would follow.
