NSCDC Foils Kidnapping and Cattle Rustling Attempt in Kano
Security operatives from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kano State have successfully stopped an attempted kidnapping and cattle rustling in the Kiru Local Government Area.
The incident happened at Bakin Komau in the Dangora area on Thursday. The quick action by the NSCDC team prevented the criminals from carrying out their plans.
According to reports, armed attackers targeted a shepherd, injuring him seriously and trying to take away his two children along with some livestock. The NSCDC personnel, who were nearby due to a dam construction project, responded fast after receiving a distress call. They engaged the suspects in a shootout, forcing the criminals to abandon the children and flee into the forest with injuries.
The two rescued children, identified as Abubakar Saleh and Muhammad Inuwa Dille, were safely reunited with their family. The injured 70-year-old shepherd, Alhaji Saleh, also received prompt medical attention. This successful operation highlights the importance of having security presence in vulnerable farming and grazing communities.
The NSCDC Kano State Command, led by Commandant Mohammed Hassan Agalama, has reassured residents of its commitment to protecting lives and property. They urged the public to continue sharing useful information with security agencies to help prevent such crimes. The command remains focused on safeguarding critical projects and rural areas from bandits and rustlers.
This latest success adds to ongoing efforts by security forces to tackle kidnapping and cattle rustling in northern Nigeria. Residents in the area can now feel safer knowing that operatives are actively working to maintain peace. Such victories encourage communities to stay vigilant and support security operations for a more secure environment.
