Soludo’s Wife Urges Stronger Climate Action on World Environment Day

The wife of Anambra State Governor, Dr Nonye Soludo, has called for urgent steps to fight climate change as the world marks Environment Day. She encouraged families, schools, markets, and communities to adopt simple habits that protect the environment. Dr Soludo stressed that a clean and healthy environment is key to preventing diseases and building a better future, especially for children.

Speaking through a press statement, Dr Nonye Soludo highlighted this year’s theme, “Now for Climate.” She pointed out the clear signs of climate change like extreme heat, floods, and droughts. According to her, everyone needs to take immediate action to address these problems before they get worse.

The Anambra First Lady, who runs the Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Initiative, listed practical steps such as proper waste disposal, keeping surroundings clean, planting trees, and showing responsible care for the environment. She explained that the air we breathe, water we drink, and food we eat all depend on the choices we make every day.

This message comes at a time when many parts of Nigeria face environmental challenges. Dr Soludo’s call aims to promote a culture where personal health and environmental care go together. She believes that small actions by individuals and communities can create big positive changes across the state.

As World Environment Day is observed on June 5, her words serve as a strong reminder for everyone to act now. Dr Nonye Soludo urged Anambra residents to work together towards a greener, cleaner, and healthier state. Her appeal highlights the importance of collective effort in tackling climate issues for the benefit of current and future generations.
