FCT Police Enforce Tinted Glass Ban, Seize Over 30 Vehicles

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command have begun enforcing the ban on illegally tinted vehicle glasses. In a recent operation, officers seized more than 30 vehicles whose owners violated the rules. This move is part of efforts to improve security across Abuja and its surrounding areas.

The ban on tinted glass is not new, but many drivers have ignored it for a long time. Police say that excessively dark windows make it hard to see inside vehicles, which criminals often take advantage of. Armed robbers and kidnappers have used heavily tinted cars to hide their activities. By enforcing the ban, the police hope to make it easier to spot suspicious behavior on the roads.

During the operation, police stopped vehicles with glasses that were too dark or not approved by the authorities. Over 30 such vehicles were seized and taken to police stations. Owners of these vehicles will likely face fines or other penalties before their cars are released. The police have warned that this enforcement will continue and even intensify in the coming days.

Residents of the FCT have mixed feelings about the crackdown. Some support it, saying it will help reduce crime and make the city safer. Others complain that the police are being too harsh, especially on people who simply like the look of tinted glass. However, the police insist that safety comes first and that proper permits are available for those who genuinely need tinted windows for medical or other valid reasons.

The FCT police have sent a clear message that the tinted glass ban is now being taken seriously. With over 30 vehicles already seized, drivers in Abuja are advised to remove any illegal tint from their cars. Failure to comply could lead to more seizures, fines, and inconvenience. The police urge everyone to cooperate for the sake of better security in the capital.
