Church Empowers 10,000 Nigerians with Skills for Life
For the past ten years, Dominion Harvest International Church has focused on more than just Sunday services. The church has trained over 10,000 Nigerians in vocational, professional, and digital skills.
This commitment to empowering people beyond the pulpit was the highlight of its 10th anniversary celebration, held at the University of Lagos.
The church’s Senior Pastor, Abiodun Oso, explained that skills training has been a core part of the ministry since day one. “From the very first day of this ministry, skills acquisition has been at our core,” he said during the event. The church offers free training in areas like artificial intelligence, public speaking, programming, and content development.
The goal is to improve employability and create real economic opportunities for people across the country.
Pastor Oso made it clear that the church believes in a complete kind of help. “We believe ministry is not just about spirituality. A man is a spirit, has a soul and lives in a body. There is the spiritual aspect, and there is the physical aspect,” he stated. This is why the church continues to run fresh training programmes. It also helps people buy homes through a mortgage scheme that uses single-digit interest rates, making housing more affordable.
As part of the anniversary, the church also honoured 31 Christians who have done great work in fields like education, medicine, IT, business, and public service. Pastor Oso pointed out that these awards are special because no one pays or lobbies to receive one. People are nominated by others for making a real difference in their professions and communities.
A guest speaker at the event, Dr. Olumide Emmanuel, praised the church’s growth and hard work. He said the last ten years showed what divine help can achieve when people stay faithful. The anniversary proved that faith-based groups can play a big role in building the nation not just through prayer, but through practical skills, housing support, and recognising everyday heroes.
