FUTO Students Boycott Classes After Colleague’s Killing Over N13,500

Students of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) have boycotted classes following the tragic killing of their colleague. The student was reportedly murdered over a dispute involving just N13,500. The shocking incident has left the campus community in fear and grief.

According to reports, the victim was attacked by suspected criminals who demanded the small amount of money. When the student could not produce the cash, he was brutally killed. Fellow students were horrified by the senseless violence. Many said they no longer feel safe on or around the campus.

In response, students decided to stay away from lectures as a form of protest. They are demanding that the university authorities and police take immediate action. The protesters want the killers arrested and brought to justice. They also called for increased security around the campus to prevent future attacks.

The university management has released a statement condemning the killing. They have promised to cooperate fully with the police investigation. Security patrols have been increased, but students remain unconvinced. Many are staying in their hostels or leaving the campus entirely until they feel safe again.

The killing over such a small amount of money has sparked outrage beyond the university. Many Nigerians are questioning why anyone would take a life for N13,500. For now, FUTO remains tense as students wait for justice. The hope is that the killers will be caught quickly, so that learning can resume without fear.
