JAMB Fixes June 13 for 2026 UTME Mop-Up Examination

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has scheduled Saturday, June 13, 2026, for the conduct of the mop-up Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) for candidates who were unable to sit for the examination despite completing biometric verification.

The announcement was made in a statement issued on Monday by JAMB spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin.

According to the board, the exercise is meant for candidates who presented themselves for the 2026 UTME but could not take the examination due to technical difficulties and other challenges experienced during the exercise.

JAMB stated that the 2026 UTME was held between April 23 and 29, 2026, but some centres encountered technical problems that prevented several candidates from participating in the examination.

The board also disclosed that some examination results had earlier been withdrawn over alleged infractions, while a number of candidates who appeared for the examination could not be biometrically verified.

It added that all affected candidates had been captured for the mop-up examination, which it described as the concluding phase of the yearly UTME exercise.

JAMB said the examination would serve as an opportunity to address all unresolved cases involving candidates who encountered issues despite reporting for the examination as required.

The board advised affected candidates to begin printing their examination notification slips from Saturday, June 6, 2026, and urged them to familiarise themselves with their examination centres before the scheduled date.

It further warned that the mop-up exercise would be the final opportunity for candidates to participate in the 2026 UTME.

More than two million candidates reportedly participated in the nationwide examination conducted in April.

JAMB has since released the examination results, maintained the minimum admission benchmark at 150 for universities and 100 for polytechnics, and reopened its portal for candidates seeking changes of course or institution.
