NLC Urges Federal Government to End Kidnappings, Protect Children
The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has called on the Federal Government to take immediate and serious action to stop the rising cases of kidnapping across the country.
The labour body expressed deep concern over the frequent abduction of innocent children and demanded better protection for them. According to the NLC, the situation has become unbearable and requires urgent government intervention.
The union stressed that every child deserves to grow up in a safe environment without fear of being kidnapped.
They pointed out that the current wave of abductions is affecting families, schools, and communities, leaving many parents in constant worry. The NLC believes the government must do more to secure public places and strengthen security agencies to tackle the menace.
Labour leaders appealed to President Bola Tinubu’s administration to treat the fight against kidnapping as a top priority. They suggested improved intelligence gathering, better funding for security operations, and stricter punishment for those involved in the crime. The NLC also called for closer cooperation between federal and state governments on this issue.
Many Nigerians have welcomed the NLC’s strong position, hoping it will push authorities to act faster. Parents and guardians are particularly worried as schools and rural areas remain vulnerable to attackers. The union promised to continue speaking out until concrete steps are taken to restore safety.
This latest call highlights the growing frustration over insecurity in the country. As kidnapping cases continue to make headlines, the pressure is now on the Federal Government to deliver results. Nigerians are watching closely to see how quickly and effectively the authorities will respond to the NLC’s demands.
