The internal power alignments within the Zamfara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have taken a concrete shape ahead of the 2027 general elections, as Alhaji Turaki Maituta has emerged as a key senatorial candidate for the party following its primary elections.

Maituta’s victory signals a critical milestone for the remaining structure of the Zamfara PDP. The primary election, which drew delegates and party stalwarts from across the local government areas within the senatorial district, concluded with Maituta securing the ticket to represent the party on the ballot.

In his post-primary acceptance speech, Maituta expressed deep appreciation to the party delegates, stakeholders, and grassroots mobilizers for their resilience and trust in his legislative blueprint. He emphasized that his primary focus would be delivering high-impact, people-centered representation to pull the zone into a new era of socio-economic and infrastructural growth.
