Ex-NPHCDA Boss Faisal Shuaib Wins Nasarawa West APC Senatorial Primary

A former Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), Dr. Faisal Shuaib, has won the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the Nasarawa West Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The declaration was formally made on Wednesday by the Returning Officer of the APC National Assembly Primary Elections Committee for Nasarawa State, Musa Guri, in the Keffi Local Government Area.

Shuaib clinched the ruling party’s ticket through an affirmation process, polling a total of 98,614 votes. The exercise was successfully conducted across the five local government areas that make up the western senatorial zone, including Keffi, Toto, Nasarawa, Kokona, and Karu.

Guri commended the state governor, Abdullahi Sule, for fostering a peaceful and transparent environment that allowed the primary election committee to carry out its tasks without external interference or structural hitches.

Reacting to the victory, Yusuf Omaki, the Acting Director-General of the DFS Campaign Movement, praised the stakeholders of the Nasarawa West zone for their unwavering confidence in Shuaib’s capacity.

He expressed strong optimism that the public health expert would offer high-impact, qualitative representation at the National Assembly if elected in 2027. Omaki also emphasized the need for immediate reconciliation, stating that the campaign team would proactively reach out to other contenders within the party to form a unified and formidable front ahead of the general elections.
