Ekiti Rep Rejects APC Primary Result, Demands Fairness
Hon. Biodun Omoleye, the House of Representatives member representing Ekiti Central Federal Constituency II, has rejected the outcome of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election in his constituency. He described the process as deeply flawed and full of irregularities.
According to him, the exercise did not reflect the true wishes of party members and voters in the area.
Omoleye alleged that there was widespread voter suppression, intimidation, and manipulation of results during the primary. He claimed that many of his supporters were harassed or prevented from voting, while electoral materials were tampered with in favour of a predetermined winner.
The lawmaker vowed to challenge the result through proper and constitutional channels to reclaim his mandate.
In a statement issued in Ado-Ekiti, Omoleye called on the APC leadership at all levels to urgently investigate the alleged irregularities. He warned that allowing such a flawed outcome to stand could damage the party’s internal democracy.
He urged his supporters to remain calm and law-abiding while the matter is being addressed.
The development has added to the growing list of complaints from some APC members after the primaries. Many observers see it as a sign of internal disagreements within the party in Ekiti State. Omoleye stressed that his fight is not just about one position but about protecting the voice of the people and ensuring justice.
As the situation unfolds, party leaders are expected to look into the complaints to maintain peace and unity ahead of the general elections. Supporters of the Ekiti lawmaker believe his stand will help promote fairness in the political process. Residents of the constituency are watching closely to see how the matter will be resolved.
