NNPCL Drops Petrol Pump Price to N910 Per Liter

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has announced a reduction in the retail price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol, to N910 per litre.

This move marks a N20 decrease from the previous price of N935 per litre.

A survey conducted by at the weekend revealed that NNPCL retail outlets along the Kubwa Express Way, Zone 4 Abuja, and Gudu, all in the Federal Capital Territory, have adjusted their fuel pump prices to reflect the new rate.

The price drop has led to a surge in demand, with motorists flocking to NNPCL filling stations to take advantage of the lower price.

This development is the latest outcome of the ongoing “price war” in the downstream sector of the petroleum industry.

The NNPCL’s price reduction brings it in line with other major players in the industry, including MRS filling stations and other Dangote Refinery partners, which are currently selling petrol for N910 per litre. This follows Dangote Refinery’s announcement of a drop in its petrol ex-depot price to N835 per litre, and its subsequent directive to its partners to sell petrol at N890 to N920 per litre in Lagos, Abuja, and other parts of the country.

The price disruption in the country’s petroleum downstream sector has led to varying prices at different filling stations, with some selling petrol for between N930 and N950 per litre, depending on the location.

However, with the NNPCL’s price reduction, motorists can now enjoy a more competitive rate at its retail outlets.

This is not the first time the NNPCL has reviewed its petrol price downwards. On April 20, 2025, the company reduced its retail price to N935 per litre, and the latest reduction is a further indication of its commitment to providing affordable fuel to Nigerian consumers.
