President Bola Tinubu arrived in Nairobi, Kenya, early Monday to participate in the Africa Forward Summit, a high-level gathering focused on economic transformation, regional cooperation and sustainable development across the continent.

The President’s aircraft landed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at about 12:18 a.m. local time, according to a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

Tinubu was received on arrival by Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Musalia Mudavadi, the Kenyan High Commissioner to Nigeria, Isaac Parashina, senior Kenyan government officials and members of Nigeria’s diplomatic mission in Kenya.

The summit, also described as the Africa-France Summit, is being co-hosted by Kenyan President William Ruto and French President Emmanuel Macron.

According to the Presidency, Tinubu’s participation reflects Nigeria’s commitment to promoting African unity, deepening regional economic cooperation and strengthening strategic partnerships aimed at accelerating sustainable development on the continent.

The summit is expected to bring together African leaders, policymakers, business executives, development partners and other stakeholders to discuss economic transformation, trade expansion, digital innovation, infrastructure development, climate resilience and collective prosperity for Africa.

During the summit, Tinubu is expected to hold bilateral and multilateral engagements with other leaders and stakeholders to strengthen Nigeria’s diplomatic and economic ties with African countries and reinforce the nation’s leadership role on the continent.

The Presidency added that the summit aligns with the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda and its push for Africa-driven solutions to continental challenges through strategic international engagement.

Tinubu was accompanied on the trip by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bianca Ojukwu; Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Abubakar Kyari; Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola; Minister of Environment, Balarabe Abbas Lawal; Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Jumoke Oduwole; and Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani.
