JAMB, Education Stakeholders to Finalise 2026 Admission Guidelines on Monday

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and key stakeholders in Nigeria’s education sector are expected to meet on Monday to deliberate on and approve the guidelines for the 2026 admission exercise into tertiary institutions across the country.

JAMB’s spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, disclosed this on Sunday, noting that the decisions reached during the meeting would shape the admission process for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The annual policy meeting, which will be chaired by the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, is expected to bring together heads of tertiary institutions nationwide, including vice-chancellors, rectors, and provosts. Leaders of agencies and parastatals under the Federal Ministry of Education will also attend the session.

According to JAMB, the meeting’s resolutions will officially signal the start of the admission exercise for universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, and other tertiary institutions in the country.

The development follows the conduct of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) in April, in which nearly two million candidates participated.
