Dangote Refinery Raises Petrol Price to ₦1,350 per Litre

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has increased the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) to ₦1,350 per litre, according to market reports on Wednesday, in a fresh adjustment that is expected to influence fuel prices across Nigeria.

The new rate represents an increase from the previous price of about ₦1,275 per litre, marking a ₦75 upward adjustment. The development was reportedly reflected in the refinery’s loading operations, with industry sources noting a temporary suspension of Proforma Invoice issuance as pricing systems were updated.

The latest change comes amid ongoing fluctuations in Nigeria’s downstream petroleum market, where prices remain influenced by global crude oil movements, exchange rate pressures, and logistics costs. Analysts say the adjustment could lead to higher pump prices at filling stations nationwide as marketers revise their retail templates.

Since the commencement of large-scale domestic refining operations, the Dangote Refinery has played a key role in shaping local fuel supply dynamics, with periodic price reviews reflecting changing market conditions.

Fuel consumers are expected to feel the impact of the new pricing in the coming days, particularly in transportation costs and the prices of goods and services dependent on petrol.

Market observers continue to watch for further adjustments as Nigeria’s deregulated fuel sector responds to both local production trends and international energy market shifts.
