2027: Kwara APC Reps Aspirant Promises Full Disclosure of Allocations
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Femi Agbaje Whyte, has pledged full transparency in the management of constituency funds if given the opportunity to serve.
He made the pledge during his formal declaration to contest for the House of Representatives seat for Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency.
Present at the event were party leaders, traditional rulers, and supporters who gathered to witness the launch of his 2027 ambition.
Speaking during the occasion held in Offa, Whyte said he would make public every allocation accruing to the constituency if elected. He stressed that accountability would be central to his representation.
“Every kobo of constituency allocation will be published. We will execute, inspect, and report, together,” he said.
According to him, the constituency would no longer play a marginal role in national discourse. “Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun will not be a footnote in the 11th Assembly,” he added.
He pledged to prioritise effective representation, development and accountability. The aspirant, who is seeking the APC ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections, described his ambition as a mission driven by conviction rather than personal gain. He promised to deliver representation that reflects the needs of the people.
“Our people deserve effective representation, loud in Abuja, present at home, and felt in every ward,” he added.
Whyte outlined plans to prioritise infrastructure, economic empowerment and security. He noted that federal roads, schools, healthcare facilities and markets in the constituency require urgent attention.
“Our federal roads, our schools, our hospitals, our markets, they need a representative who knows the doors to knock on. I will leverage my network and experience to bring projects that matter,” he said.
He also proposed targeted interventions for youths, farmers, traders and women, including technology hubs, improved market access and credit support.
“The youth need tech and enterprise hubs. Farmers need processing and access to markets. Traders need credit and infrastructure. Women need real support, not just slogans,” he stated.
Whyte further pledged to maintain close engagement with constituents through the establishment of constituency offices across the three local government areas and regular town hall meetings. “You will not need a miracle to reach your representative,” he said.
Emphasising unity, he described Ifelodun, Offa and Oyun as “three names, one destiny,” promising equitable distribution of projects and opportunities. “I will be a bridge builder. No ward will be abandoned. No voice will be ignored,” he assured.
The APC aspirant also called on party leaders and members to support his bid, saying his candidacy aligns with the party’s broader development agenda. “This ticket is not about me, it is about expanding our party’s footprint of service,” he said.
He urged stakeholders across the constituency to rally behind his aspiration, declaring that the journey towards the 2027 elections had begun.
