FIFA Goes Bold as Volunteer Uniform for 2026 World Cup Drops
FIFA has revealed the official volunteer uniform for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, presenting a bold, colourful kit that will be worn by nearly 50,000 volunteers across 16 host cities in Canada, Mexico, and the United States when the tournament kicks off this June.
The uniform, designed by FIFA partner Adidas, draws its creative inspiration from North America’s varsity jacket culture, blending vibrant colours with the FIFA World Cup 2026 visual identity. A distinctive heart-shaped motif, representing the Volunteer Programme’s ethos and the central role volunteers play in bringing the tournament to life, features prominently across the design. One of its standout elements is a set of customisable host city patches, allowing each volunteer to represent the specific city they are serving in adding a layer of local identity to what is a truly global event.
Each volunteer will receive a comprehensive clothing package that includes trainers, socks, T-shirts, shorts, joggers, a mid-layer jacket, a cap, and a waist bag.
The collection has been developed using breathable materials with layering options built in to accommodate the vastly different climates across the three host nations, from the heat of Miami and Houston to the cooler conditions of Toronto and Seattle.
FIFA’s Chief Operating Officer for the tournament, Heimo Schirgi, said the unveiling was a celebration of the workforce behind the spectacle. He described the volunteers as the people who will ensure that every fan, player, and guest is welcomed with warmth and joy, adding that the design honours both the global spirit of the competition and the distinct identity of each host city.
Training for volunteers began last month across the host cities, with uniform collection and accreditation set to follow in the coming weeks.
More than one million people applied to be part of the programme, with just under 50,000 ultimately selected making it the largest volunteer operation in FIFA’s history. The tournament itself begins on June 11, when Mexico host the opening match in Mexico City, before co-hosts the United States and Canada kick off their campaigns in Los Angeles and Toronto the following day.
