Gunmen Abduct Farm Manager in Ondo Community

On Monday, April 27, 2026, a farm manager identified as Afolabi Ajayi was kidnapped by gunmen in the Imafon community, situated within the Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The abduction has sparked concern in the area, as local residents and the community grapple with the sudden security breach.

The incident reportedly unfolded at approximately 10:30 a.m. as the victim arrived at a poultry farm to oversee daily operations. According to reports, the assailants emerged suddenly from the surrounding bush shortly after the manager alighted from his vehicle and whisked him away into the forest, leaving behind a scene of confusion and alarm.

Following the abduction, the victim’s family has been left in a state of distress, particularly as the perpetrators have yet to initiate any communication regarding the incident. As of the time of the latest reports, the kidnappers have not established any contact with the family or relevant parties to outline their demands.

Law enforcement authorities were notified immediately after the event took place. In response, the Ondo State Police Command has mobilized tactical teams to the Imafon and Ilado area. These security personnel are currently conducting an extensive search operation, combing the surrounding forests in an effort to track the perpetrators and ensure the safe rescue of the victim.

Police Public Relations Officer Abayomi Jimoh confirmed the incident, emphasizing that the Command is employing all necessary operational strategies to resolve the situation.

The police have reassured the public that securing the victim’s safety remains their utmost priority, and they are committed to providing further updates as their investigation progresses and the rescue efforts continue.
