Faith Film Agbara Nla Crosses N450 Million, Tops Nigerian Box Office for Fifth Weekend Running
Nollywood faith film, Agbara Nla: The Return has grossed ₦450.1 million at the Nigerian box office and topped the weekend chart for the fifth consecutive weekend, according to box office tracking data.
The film earned ₦27.4 million from 4,781 admissions over the latest weekend, taking its total to 75,444 admissions.
It now sits just ₦2.2 million behind *The Wedding Party*, which grossed about ₦452.3 million. Once it overtakes that figure, which is expected within days, *Agbara Nla* will become the 10th highest grossing Nollywood film of all time.
The film is a remake of Mount Zion’s 33 year old Christian classic and is produced by filmmaker Mike Bamiloye. It opened in Nigerian cinemas on October 1 after preview screenings that brought in more than ₦70 million.
Its distributor, Nile Entertainment, has described it as the highest grossing faith based film of all time and the highest grossing film ever released in October. The film also opened in selected United States cinemas on October 30, after reportedly earning $173,650 in the United Kingdom, Ireland and Canada.
The run has helped the wider industry. October closed with ₦1.19 billion at the Nigerian box office, the 11th straight month above the ₦1 billion mark, meaning every month of 2026 so far has crossed that line.
