Netflix Wins Broadcast Rights for 2030 FIFA World Cup in Spain, Andorra

Netflix has secured exclusive broadcasting rights for the 2030 FIFA World Cup in Spain and Andorra. The deal marks another major move by the streaming platform into live sports coverage.

The company plans to show all 104 matches of the tournament, which will be hosted by Spain, Morocco and Portugal. Alongside the live games, Netflix will offer pre-match, half-time and post-match programmes specially prepared for Spanish viewers.

One match will be available free of charge on each matchday in Spain. Games involving the Spanish national team, both semi-finals and the final will also be shown free-to-air so more fans can watch without a subscription.

Netflix’s chief content officer, Bela Bajaria, said the partnership with FIFA shows the company’s aim of bringing people together through big sporting events. FIFA Secretary General Mattias Grafström welcomed the agreement and said both sides want to bring fans closer to the game and let as many people as possible share in the excitement.

The deal adds to Netflix’s growing list of live sports rights. The platform already holds broadcasting rights for the 2027 and 2031 FIFA Women’s World Cups and recently secured exclusive global rights for the December boxing bout between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury.
