Natasha Osawaru Drops 2Baba’s Surname at Edo Assembly, Fuelling Separation Talk

Edo State lawmaker, Natasha Osawaru has sparked fresh speculation about her marriage to singer, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, after introducing herself without his surname during a plenary session.

The Minority Leader representing Egor Constituency identified herself as Honourable Natasha Irobosa Osawaru.

In a video from the Edo State House of Assembly, her nameplate also displayed only the Osawaru name, with no mention of Idibia. She spoke in support of a bill aimed at improving emergency response services in the state, describing the proposed law as timely for the people.

The move stands in contrast to an earlier session in April 2025, when she had introduced herself as Honourable Natasha Irobosa Osawaru, née Idibia. The change has drawn attention amid ongoing public interest in the couple’s relationship.

Natasha was noticeably absent from 2Baba’s 51st birthday celebration and album listening party in Lagos in September. Around the same period, the two unfollowed each other on Instagram, adding to existing rumours of marital difficulties.

Neither Natasha nor 2Baba has publicly confirmed a separation or divorce. The couple married in a private ceremony in 2025 after 2Baba’s split from his former wife, Annie Macaulay Idibia, and later welcomed a child together.
