Sister Celebrates Kwara Attorney-General’s Elevation to Senior Advocate of Nigeria

Eniola Sulyman-Yusuf, the elder sister of Kwara State Attorney-General Ibrahim Sulyman, has celebrated her brother’s conferment as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria in an emotional post late Monday. Sulyman was among the 68 legal practitioners sworn in by Chief Justice of Nigeria Kudirat Kekere-Ekun at the 2026/2027 Legal Year ceremony.

The ceremony marked the start of the new legal year and included 67 advocates and one academic. The Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee had earlier approved the elevations at its plenary session held in Abuja in July.

In her post on X, Eniola noted that the honour came exactly seven months after their father’s death. She described the moment as beautiful, emotional and fulfilling, saying their late father, who was also a lawyer, would have been proud to see the legal baton he passed on soaring high.

She shared a photo of herself with her brother and two other women, proudly pointing out that their father raised three lawyers. Eniola expressed gratitude and reflected that while they make plans, God remains the best planner. She also joked that she now carries a new title as “Egbon SAN.”

Ibrahim Sulyman was appointed Kwara Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice on May 11, 2022, after previously serving as Commissioner for Tertiary Education. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Law from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in 2008.
