Bolt Engages Riders In Port Harcourt On Data Privacy, Digital Safety
Ride hailing platform, Bolt has engaged passengers in Port Harcourt on data privacy and digital safety as part of efforts to improve security in the ride hailing ecosystem.
The engagement was held under the company Safety Meet and Greet initiative, which brings together riders, drivers and safety stakeholders to discuss measures aimed at promoting safer trips.
Bolt said the session focused on educating riders on how their data is protected, responsible use of the platform and safety features available to users before, during and after trips.
The company noted that the forum also provided an opportunity for riders to share feedback and experiences, while reinforcing its commitment to safety with the theme By your side, on every ride.
During the session, participants were sensitised on how to keep their accounts secure, avoid sharing personal information with unauthorised persons and use in app safety tools such as trip sharing, emergency assistance and driver verification.
Bolt explained that protecting user data remains central to its operations, adding that continuous education would help riders make informed decisions and reduce risks associated with online interactions.
The company also highlighted its investment in technology and customer support systems to monitor trips, respond swiftly to incidents and ensure that both riders and drivers feel safe.
Riders who attended the event commended the initiative, saying it gave them better understanding of their rights, responsibilities and how to stay safe while using ride hailing services.
Bolt said it would continue to hold similar engagements across cities to deepen awareness on safety, strengthen trust between the platform and its users and promote a more secure ride hailing culture in Nigeria.
