APGA Congratulates Soludo on Appointment as Tinubu’s 2027 Campaign Coordinator in Anambra

The All Progressives Grand Alliance has congratulated Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, following his appointment as the state coordinator of President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 Presidential Campaign Council.

The party described the appointment as recognition of Soludo’s leadership and his advocacy for cooperation between APGA and the Federal Government, saying the partnership had helped attract federal support for infrastructure and economic development in Anambra State.

In a statement issued on Tuesday and signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Ejimofor Opara, APGA said the governor’s inclusion reflected his commitment to progressive ideals and efforts to promote collaboration between the state and the federal government.

The party reiterated its support for Tinubu’s re-election, recalling that it had adopted the president as its consensus candidate for the 2027 presidential election during its National Executive Committee meeting and Tinubu’s working visit to Anambra on May 8, 2025.

According to APGA, the decision informed its position not to field a presidential candidate for the 2027 election.

The party also expressed confidence that Soludo’s political influence, organisational capacity and standing across the South-East would help mobilise support for Tinubu and his Renewed Hope Agenda.

It maintained, however, that its support for the president would not affect its intention to retain control of legislative contests in Anambra State.

“While APGA remains firmly in control of Anambra State, our position remains: In Anambra, it is Tinubu for President, APGA for Senate, House of Representatives, and State House of Assembly,” the statement said.

Soludo’s appointment comes as the All Progressives Congress continues to organise its campaign structure ahead of the 2027 general election.

The revised APC Presidential Campaign Council list reportedly includes several prominent political figures, among them the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike; Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke; Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori; former Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola; and Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo.

Under the revised arrangement, Tinubu will lead the campaign council, with Vice-President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, serving as vice-chairmen.

APGA said Soludo’s participation would strengthen efforts to build cooperation among progressive political groups and expand support for Tinubu across the South-East.
