NDDC Pledges Improved Service Delivery to Niger Delta Communities

The Niger Delta Development Commission, NNDC has reaffirmed its commitment to improving service delivery and maintaining professionalism in its engagement with stakeholders across the Niger Delta region.

The Executive Director of Corporate Services, Ifedayo Abegunde, gave the assurance during an event marking Customer Service Week in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, according to a statement issued by the commission’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Seledi Thompson-Wakama, on Saturday.

Abegunde described quality customer service as a vital part of the commission’s mandate, stressing the need for responsive and people-centred development across the region.

He assured communities and other stakeholders that the commission remained committed to ensuring that the benefits of democratic governance reached the people.

The executive director attributed the commission’s recent achievements to projects delivered over the past three years under the leadership of its Managing Director, Dr Samuel Ogbuku, and the management team.

He also commended President Bola Tinubu for his leadership, saying the Renewed Hope Agenda had established a foundation for economic growth, national unity and inclusive development.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Director of SERVICOM at the NDDC, Dr Irene Okezie, said Customer Service Week provided an opportunity to recognise the contributions of frontline personnel to effective service delivery and stronger relationships with stakeholders.

She commended customer service staff for their dedication, patience and professionalism, particularly when assisting stakeholders under difficult circumstances.

Okezie added that the commission was using the occasion to appreciate employees and stakeholders whose contributions support development across the region. She described the observance as the commission’s first Customer Service Week celebration and expressed hope that it would encourage further improvements.

Also speaking, the Deputy Director of SERVICOM at the NDDC Abuja Liaison Office, Kikelomo Aina, urged staff to demonstrate empathy towards vulnerable customers and remain willing to assist people facing difficulties.

Aina encouraged employees to go beyond their routine responsibilities when necessary to ensure that stakeholders received adequate assistance.

The programme’s consultant, Pastor Benson Eghaire, called for stronger teamwork among staff, noting that cooperation, perseverance and determination were essential to achieving efficiency and effective service delivery.
