NRS Warns Public Against Fraudulent FIRS Recruitment Notice

The Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) has warned the public against a fraudulent recruitment notice currently circulating on social media and other platforms.

In a public notice issued on Saturday, the Service said its attention was drawn to a notice titled “Federal Inland Revenue Service FIRS Job Vacancy Replacement” which is purportedly advertising employment opportunities within the Service.

The notice directs applicants to submit information to the email address recruit@replacementnhrmt.org.

The NRS said the notice is fraudulent and did not emanate from the Nigeria Revenue Service. The Service reminded the public that the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has been succeeded by the Nigeria Revenue Service, adding that any purported recruitment notice issued in the name of FIRS should be treated with caution and independently verified.

For the avoidance of doubt, the NRS said it has not authorised or commenced the recruitment exercise referred to in the notice and has not appointed or authorised any individual, agent, consultant or third party to conduct any recruitment exercise on its behalf.

The Service advised members of the public to disregard the notice and to exercise caution when responding to recruitment advertisements, messages, links or other communications purporting to originate from the NRS.

The public was also warned not to make any payment, disclose personal or financial information, or submit certificates, identification documents or other documentation in response to the purported recruitment exercise.

According to the Service, any legitimate recruitment exercise undertaken by the Nigeria Revenue Service will be formally communicated through its official website and authorised communication channels.

It encouraged members of the public to verify any recruitment-related information through these channels before taking any action and to report suspicious recruitment communications to the appropriate authorities.
