I Think About Tinubu’s Re-election Every Day, Confesses Wike

Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike has said that President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 occupies his thoughts daily.

He stressed that he is fully committed to helping the president secure a second term.

Wike spoke on Monday during town hall meetings with the Rumueme and Apara kingdoms in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State. The former Rivers governor urged residents to vote massively for Tinubu, saying the president would have an easier path to victory than he did in 2023.

“Each day I sleep, I am thinking about the president’s re-election. When I am eating, I think about the president’s re-election. Everything I am doing now is about the president’s re-election,” Wike said. He called on Rivers people to put sentiments aside and support Tinubu, arguing that the president had recognised the state through developments and several appointments.

The FCT minister criticised former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, the African Democratic Congress presidential candidate, and his running mate Rotimi Amaechi. He accused them of deceiving Nigerians and claimed the ADC would not secure the required 25 per cent of votes in Rivers State.

Wike also described Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, and other opposition figures as unelectable politicians.

He urged his supporters and political allies not to allow internal disputes or communal disagreements to distract them from the goal of securing Tinubu’s re-election.
