2027 Election: I Have Faith in God That Tinubu Will Return, And We Will Win the Five Southeast States, Says Umahi

The Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, has expressed confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be re-elected in the 2027 presidential election.

The minister said his belief is anchored on his faith in God and on the achievements of the Tinubu administration.

Umahi made the remarks during a public engagement where he spoke on the progress of the administration and its infrastructure drive across the country.

He said the performance of the government so far, particularly in road construction, economic reforms and governance, will speak for the President at the polls in 2027.

According to him, Nigerians are beginning to see the impact of the difficult but necessary decisions taken by the administration of President Tinubu. He said the administration has shown commitment to developing all parts of the country and that this will earn the President the support of Nigerians in the next election.

The minister also said the All Progressives Congress (APC) is well positioned to win the five states in the South-East in the 2027 general elections. He said the party has continued to strengthen its structure in the region through federal projects, stakeholder engagement and inclusion in governance.

He noted that the South-East, which has traditionally been dominated by opposition parties, is now witnessing increased presence of the APC and growing support for President Tinubu.

He expressed optimism that with sustained efforts, the party will win Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo States.

Umahi’s comments come amid early political permutations and alignments ahead of the 2027 general elections, with political actors across parties already making statements about their expectations for the polls.
