I Will Spend Holidays in Zamfara, Borno if Elected President, Vows Obi
Former Anambra State Governor and political leader Peter Obi has said he would spend his holidays in Zamfara and Borno states if elected president, stressing the need for leaders to directly engage with communities facing security and development challenges.
Obi stated that effective leadership requires a close understanding of the realities confronting citizens, particularly in areas affected by insecurity, poverty and limited economic opportunities.
According to him, spending time in such states would provide an opportunity to better appreciate local concerns and work with stakeholders on solutions aimed at improving living conditions and restoring confidence among residents.
He noted that public officials should maintain regular contact with communities across the country rather than remain distant from the people they serve.
Obi also emphasized the importance of investing in security, education, healthcare and economic development as part of broader efforts to address the root causes of instability in affected regions.
Zamfara and Borno have faced significant security challenges in recent years, with authorities at both federal and state levels implementing various measures to improve safety and support affected communities.
The former governor said national unity can be strengthened when leaders demonstrate commitment to every part of the country and ensure that no region feels neglected.
His remarks come amid ongoing political discussions and consultations ahead of the 2027 general election, with major political figures outlining their visions and priorities for Nigeria’s future.
