Kaduna to Rehabilitate 17 Primary Healthcare Centres
The Kaduna State Government has commenced plans to rehabilitate 17 Primary Healthcare Centres across the state and transform them into Centres of Excellence.
The initiative is part of efforts by the state administration to strengthen primary healthcare delivery and improve access to quality medical services for residents.
The government is also distributing standard medical equipment to selected healthcare facilities as part of measures to enhance service delivery.
The rehabilitation programme is expected to upgrade the selected centres with improved infrastructure and equipment, enabling them to provide a wider range of healthcare services and serve as referral points for patients requiring additional care.
The state government said the investment in primary healthcare is aimed at bringing essential medical services closer to communities, particularly residents in underserved areas.
The development is part of the administration’s broader healthcare reforms, which include the revitalisation of primary healthcare facilities, recruitment of health workers and improvements in emergency medical services.
Kaduna has previously upgraded hundreds of primary healthcare centres across its 23 local government areas, while Centres of Excellence have also been established to provide more advanced services and support referrals.
The latest rehabilitation programme is expected to further strengthen the state’s primary healthcare system and improve the capacity of frontline facilities to respond to the healthcare needs of residents.
The government said it would continue to invest in healthcare infrastructure, equipment and personnel as part of efforts to improve health outcomes across Kaduna State.
