Troops operating under Operation Fansan Yamma have arrested three suspected terrorist couriers and rescued 14 kidnapped victims during separate security operations in Katsina State.

The operations were carried out as part of ongoing efforts to disrupt terrorist logistics networks, rescue abducted persons and improve security across the North-West region.

Security sources said the three suspects were intercepted while allegedly transporting supplies and other items intended for terrorist groups operating in the area. The suspects were taken into custody for further investigation.

In a separate operation, troops successfully rescued 14 kidnapped victims from their captors after acting on intelligence reports and conducting targeted search missions.

The victims were recovered safely and have since been reunited with their families or handed over to the appropriate authorities for medical attention and debriefing.

Military authorities said the operations form part of sustained campaigns against kidnapping, banditry and terrorism in Katsina and neighbouring states.

The troops also intensified patrols and surveillance activities in vulnerable communities to prevent further attacks and restrict the movement of criminal elements.

Security officials reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining pressure on terrorist groups and criminal networks while urging residents to continue providing timely and credible information to support ongoing operations.

The latest successes have been described as part of broader efforts by security forces to dismantle terrorist support structures, rescue victims and restore peace in affected communities across the region.
