Troops operating in Plateau State have arrested a suspected Berom militia member in connection with the alleged theft of cattle during a security operation in the state.

The suspect was apprehended following intelligence reports linking him to the disappearance of livestock in an area affected by recurring security concerns and cattle rustling incidents.

Military sources said troops launched an operation after receiving information about the movement of stolen cattle and the activities of suspected criminal elements in the area.

Preliminary investigations reportedly linked the suspect to the incident, leading to his arrest for further questioning and investigation.

Security personnel also intensified surveillance and patrols in surrounding communities as part of efforts to prevent further attacks, cattle theft and other criminal activities.
