The Federal Government has re-arraigned five men accused of involvement in the kidnapping of students and teachers as well as related killings in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

The defendants appeared before a Federal High Court on multiple charges bordering on terrorism, conspiracy, kidnapping and other offences linked to the attack.

Prosecutors alleged that the accused were members of a terrorist group and participated in criminal activities that led to the abduction of victims and the loss of lives during the incident.

During the court proceedings, the charges were read to the defendants, who entered their pleas before the trial judge.

The prosecution informed the court that it was prepared to present evidence and witnesses in support of the allegations against the accused persons.

Defence lawyers also addressed the court on matters relating to the case, while the judge fixed a date for the continuation of proceedings.

The case forms part of ongoing efforts by authorities to prosecute individuals accused of involvement in terrorist activities, kidnappings and violent crimes across the country.

Security agencies have continued investigations into the incident, while the court process is expected to determine the culpability or otherwise of the accused persons.
