The Deputy Spokesman of the House of Representatives, Philip Agbese, has launched a cross-party mobilisation platform, the Renewed Hope Labourers Network (RHOLAN), to campaign for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

Agbese, a member of the Labour Party from Benue State, is the founder and Coordinating Director-General of the organisation, which plans to mobilise workers and grassroots supporters across Nigeria’s 176,846 polling units.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday, Agbese said the initiative was based on his support for Tinubu’s economic reform programme rather than party affiliation.

He said the network would seek to build support for the president beyond conventional political structures by establishing grassroots structures across the country.

“We are a people ready to work for President Tinubu across the 176,846 polling units in Nigeria. This is not about party. It is about belief in the leadership and philosophy of President Tinubu,” he said.

Agbese said RHOLAN would combine digital technology, data and traditional grassroots mobilisation to identify and engage supporters and communicate the administration’s policies and achievements directly to voters.

He said the network would extend its activities beyond state capitals and party offices to markets, farms, construction sites and informal-sector communities.

According to him, ordinary workers must be able to understand and experience the impact of government policies in their daily lives.

Agbese identified fiscal reforms, infrastructure, agriculture, power, road development and social investment as areas where the administration’s policies could create opportunities for workers and low-income Nigerians.

He acknowledged that some of the reforms had created short-term economic difficulties but argued that continuity was necessary for the measures to achieve their intended results.

“President Tinubu has chosen the difficult but necessary path of resetting the economy so that it can work for the many rather than the few,” Agbese said.

He said RHOLAN would focus on explaining the reforms to voters while challenging narratives that, in its view, underestimate their potential long-term benefits.

The lawmaker said his support for Tinubu’s second-term bid was also driven by the need to consolidate policies already introduced by the administration.

He argued that abandoning the reform programme midway could undermine progress, while a second term would provide an opportunity to deepen and institutionalise the policies.

Agbese said the organisation would operate from its Abuja headquarters and establish structures across the country to organise, educate and mobilise supporters.

He said the ultimate goal was to make grassroots Nigerians active participants in the political process rather than treating them solely as election-day voters.

“Technology will help us map, engage and organise Labourers who have long been treated as voting statistics rather than as partners in national progress,” he said.
