Defence Minister Reaffirms Support for Tinubu, Uba Sani’s 2027 Re-election

The Minister of Defence, Gen. Christopher Musa (retd.), has restated his support for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani in the 2027 general elections.

Musa made his position known on Friday in Kaduna during a meeting with local government coordinators of GCG Musawah 4 PBAT 2027, a grassroots mobilisation group campaigning for the two leaders.

The meeting brought together the group’s leadership, coordinators representing the 23 local government areas in Kaduna State and representatives of more than 300 affiliated support and interest groups.

Musa urged members to sustain their grassroots mobilisation efforts, stressing that building a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria required collective commitment and determination.

“I will continue to work hard for Nigeria to succeed,” the minister said.

He called for continued dedication to national development, adding, “We should remain determined to build this country because together we are stronger as a nation.”

Musa also advocated religious tolerance, national unity and peaceful coexistence, citing his childhood in Sokoto as an example of interfaith interaction.

“I grew up in Sokoto; there is no way I can object to any religion,” he said, recalling that he joined his Muslim friends and neighbours in celebrating Sallah while growing up.

He said Nigeria possessed substantial human and material resources that could drive national transformation if citizens worked together.

“God put us in Nigeria to build this country, and we have the capacity to do it, both in human and material resources,” Musa stated.

The minister described nation-building as a shared responsibility and urged Nigerians to prioritise unity, commitment and the national interest.

The engagement also strengthened the activities of GCG Musawah 4 PBAT 2027, which has developed grassroots structures across Kaduna State to mobilise support for Tinubu and Sani ahead of the 2027 elections.

The group’s National Coordinator, Amb. Polycarp Gankon, a former 2019 governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance in Kaduna State, thanked Musa for his continued engagement with the movement and its grassroots coordinators.

Gankon said the minister’s participation would further energise the group’s mobilisation activities across the state.
