Chief Daniel Osi Orbih, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and ally of Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, has died.

Orbih reportedly passed away on Monday, August 31, 2026.

The announcement was made by his family in a statement signed by Francis Udukhomoi Orbih, on behalf of the Orbih family.

The family described his death as a painful loss but said it remained fully submitted to the will of God.

Orbih is survived by his wife, Mrs Florence Orbih; his children, Winifred Anwosiobor Orbih and Dr Mildred Omonemi Orbih; his siblings and other members of his extended family.

The family appealed to relatives, friends and well-wishers to keep them in their prayers as they mourn the death.

It said details of the funeral arrangements would be made public at a later date.
