Troops of Operation Enduring Peace have arrested three suspected militia members in Plateau State following an attack on livestock in the area.

The suspects were apprehended during a military operation launched after security agencies received reports of an assault on herders and their cattle.

According to security sources, the attackers allegedly targeted a herd of cattle, killing several animals and rustling others before fleeing the scene.

Troops swiftly responded to the incident and commenced a search operation that led to the arrest of the three suspects.

During the operation, security personnel also recovered a number of rustled cattle and took steps to return them to their rightful owners.

Military authorities said investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of the suspects’ involvement and identify any other individuals connected to the attack.

The arrests form part of broader efforts by security agencies to curb cattle rustling, communal violence and other criminal activities in Plateau State.

Residents have been urged to remain calm and cooperate with security personnel by providing credible information that could assist ongoing investigations.

The military reiterated its commitment to maintaining peace and preventing further violence in communities affected by recurring clashes and criminal activities.
